The focus is on the integration of individuals in exile into the media industry through the work of ReFOCUS. Together, we showcase ReFOCUS projects, discuss the necessity of such initiatives in Berlin, and open a dialogue about what has already been accomplished and what needs to be done in the future.

ReFOCUS offers a "non-formal" training approach for asylum seekers and refugees in Athens, Lesbos, and Krakow. The project aims to positively impact the reality of refugees in Europe. Through training in photography, audio and video production, graphic design, as well as media editing and computer courses, the individual skills of the students are strengthened. Participants are intended to be capable of telling their own stories, developing professional media skills, and experiencing successful vocational integration.

ReFOCUS plans to open a media school in Berlin. However, there is currently a lack of a sufficient community and financial resources to realize this endeavor. This is where our event comes in: we use this platform to build a supportive community, mobilize resources, and attract potential partners and supporters. Our goal is to bring to life the vision of a media school in Berlin for refugees and asylum seekers, placing the success stories of refugees at the forefront.
